Ideas Sheet #1 - Podcast review Ideas
Product: Top Gear (2002-2015)
Interview questions:
“What is your favourite episode?”
“Who is your favourite presenter?”
“What is your opinion on the new presenters?”
“What was your favourite Top Gear Special?”
Structure:
Start the podcast by introducing presenters, briefly describe what is going to be covered in the podcast.
After intro, explain the series and briefly go over the newer top gear (which is worse). Talk about different aspects of the show, (reasonably priced car, lap times, bombshell etc). Introduce and interview guests on the podcast.
Conclude what has been said and talked about throughout the podcast.
Intro/Outro:
The intro should start out by introducing the presenter(s) of the podcast. The presenters should briefly go over what the podcast will be about and interview guests if there are any.
The outro should summarise what has been said in the podcast. The presenters should also thank the listeners for tuning in and the guests for appearing on the podcast.
Music/Sound Bites:
The podcast should include a distinctive jingle at the start of it, this will lure the listeners in and make them want to continue to listen. The podcast should include some background music, this is more professional and benefits the listener because they have something else to listen to instead of the same voices and it won’t bore them so easily.
Guests:
The podcast could include some guests. This will make the podcast more professional and it would also give the listener someone else to listen to rather than the same people all the time. It also gives the listener another opinion to listen to.
Facts of product:
It is good to include facts in the podcast, it makes the podcast more professional.
Interesting facts about Top Gear:
Style/tone:
When you create a podcast, you should always base the style around the target audience. For example, if you are aiming the podcast at children or teenagers, an informal approach would be more acceptable because they may find a formal approach a bit boring if they listen for a while. The tone of a podcast should always sound happy and exciting because if the presenters talk in the same tone and make it sound like it is read off a script, it could become very boring after a while. It also makes the podcast sound less professional. The presenters should also have a good pace when talking because if they talk quickly, the listeners would get lost and be confused as they won't know where they are up to.
